A special attention will be given to the trends, the statistics and the way forward having in mind the opportunities, the main drivers, and the specific challenges in certain regions.

Nikos holds a degree in chemical engineering and since 2017 he is part of the Cement Europe team, holding the position of Environment & Resources Manager. In this role, he focuses on the regulatory aspects of energy, carbon capture storage, and utilisation, waste used as fuels and raw materials as well as the air emissions across the European cement industry.

Prior, Nikos gained valuable experience in the Halyps cement plant in Athens, part of Heidelberg Materials group, where he worked for 14 years, across Environmental Management, Quality Assurance, and Process Control. This experience gave him a solid, hands-on understanding of how cement is produced from start to finish.
