Eng. Hazem Moshir is the Energy & Sustainability Manager at Arabian Cement Company (ACC).
With more than 14 years of experience in the cement sector and energy, Moshir is a Pan Arab
Certified Energy Management Professional (CEMP). As Energy Manager, his role is to identify the
significant energy uses throughout the whole plant, monitor daily specific energy consumption
for all departments, and subsequently set an optimization / improvement plan for needed areas.
Moreover, he designs energy program policies that enhance overall efficiency and reduce energy
related costs at ACC. He also benchmarks energy consumption against best practice guidelines,
plans for new projects to enhance the company’s energy profile and introduces new industrial
techniques to enhance energy savings. He has applied EMS (Energy Management System) with
accordance to ISO 50,001 and is certified as a Lead Auditor for “Energy Management System –
ISO 50001: 2018’’.
Besides his focus on energy, Hazem is also assigned to monitor and calculate plant GHG emissions
inventories, setting short & long-term plans for decreasing the carbon footprint as a part of the
decarbonization roadmap at ACC, based on the 2030 road map vision. In addition to this, he
attains to embody sustainability in every aspect of ACC’s operations, contributing to the well
being of our society and the environment while maintaining excellence in our industry. Moshir
ensures that sustainable practices are embedded throughout ACC operations by identifying
further opportunities for improvement across our energy management and sustainability
practices.
Moshir joined ACC in 2013 as a Process and Production Shift Leader before taking the role of
Senior Alternative Fuels and Energy Engineer, and then moving into his current role. He holds a
B.Sc. of Engineering from the Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Cairo
University.
