Decarbonizing the cement industry: calcined clays and alternative fuels

Joel Maia will speak at the CarbonZero Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials Conference on the topic of “Decarbonizing the cement industry: calcined clays and alternative fuels”. The event will be held on October 26-27 in Lyon, France and it will include an exclusive visit to Holcim innovation Hub.

“I am delighted to be part of the upcoming Carbon Zero program, in which various market leaders will explore the possibilities for decarbonizing the cement industry,” said Joel Maia.

FCT Combustion is proud to be part of this group and present our contribution to the topic, where we will discuss different strategies to reduce CO2 emissions in cement plants. In particular, we will focus on the production of calcined clays and usage of alternative fuels. These, along with hydrogen-firing, are FCT’s core pillars for cement industry decarbonization.”
