Cemex has supplied 2,500 m³ of concrete to transform the former offices of the Ministry of the Armed Forces in Paris into the award-winning Îlot Saint-Germain real estate project.
Located on rue Saint-Dominique in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the project involved rehabilitating and restructuring three buildings into a mix of housing and facilities. This included the creation of a gym-garden within a complex of 254 rehabilitated housing units, a nursery with 68 cradles, and a 600 m² garden. The Îlot Saint-Germain project is a successful example of urban renewal, integrating modern living spaces with essential community facilities.
To meet the architect’s requirements for ultra-white concrete, Cemex’s Parisian production units delivered both the precision required in concrete production and the technical complexity of the formulas. This involved using architectural concrete made with white cement, combined with a mix of white and beige pigments. Additionally, Cemex provided expert advice and pumping services to facilitate the implementation of the concrete, ensuring a fluid, stable, and consistently high-quality formula.
