Decarbonising mineral drying with fluidized bed techonolgy

Unlike broad construction events, the Cementitious Materials Congress Americas is the only high-level forum that brings together the C-Suite from giants like CRH, Heidelberg, and CEMEX alongside the smaller innovative companies. It is the exclusive bridge between groundbreaking material science and the real-world trade dynamics of 2026. You will meet and network with the guarantee of future business and fresh ideas. Join us in Dallas on March 11 and 12 – seats are almost gone so make sure you get one soon.

Decarbonising mineral drying with fluidized bed techonolgy will be presented by Daniel Verbaan, Sales Manager and Julian Ravenshorst, Sales Engineer, TEMA Process.

In the cementitious materials value chain, many mineral streams require controlled drying before further handling, grinding or blending. This process can be energy-intensive and is increasingly relevant in the context of CO₂ reduction and low-carbon production routes.

The presentation will focus on hybrid fluidized bed drying solutions for the mineral industry, combining fossil-based heating, electrification, and heat pump integration. Particular attention will be given to operational flexibility, allowing drying systems to respond to fluctuating renewable energy availability, as well as to the technical and economic considerations of implementing low-carbon drying concepts.
