Mehmet Burak Uzun is a Senior Product Development and Technology Specialist at Limak Cement, where he works on the development and industrial implementation of innovative and low-carbon cement technologies. He has several years of experience in the cement industry, with expertise in cement chemistry, clinker technology, supplementary cementitious materials, and sustainable cement production.Ā
He is currently pursuing his PhD in Micro and Nanotechnology at Middle East Technical University (METU), focusing on low-COā cement through the optimization of calcined clay and clinker chemistry. His research investigates the relationship between clay mineralogy, calcination, clinker polymorphs, hydration, and mechanical performance.Ā
At Limak Cement, he has contributed to the development and industrial-scale implementation of LC3 technology and the development of Boron-Activated Cement (BAC). His work focuses on integrating high clinker substitution with tailored clinker chemistry and polymorph optimization to reduce COā emissions while maintaining cement performance and utilizing existing production infrastructure. His research interests also include alternative raw materials, clinker mineralogy, hydration, and advanced cement characterization.Ā
