
Leon de Graaf is President of the Business for CBAM Coalition, a group of companies and business associations providing practical solutions to the EU institutions on how to strengthen the CBAM and EU Emissions Trading System (ETS1).
He is also Managing Partner at Business Advisers on Climate & Competitiveness (BACC), a Brussels based public affairs consultancy that helps early movers in heavy industry and power decarbonisation.
Leon has spent the last ten years working on EU energy, climate and industrial policy. Before Leon setup BACC he ran the heavy industry practice at SustainablePublicAffairs, working with clients in mining, iron & steel, cement, fossil-free hydrogen and clean power. Before that, he spent five years as the main climate and circular economy expert at BusinessEurope, where he coordinated the federation’s climate neutrality position and its annual delegation to the UN climate talks.
He holds a master’s from the London School of Economics and gets quoted regularly in Brussels based as well as international media.
