Claudene is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the construction materials industry.

A South African national, she recently joined the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Washington, DC, as a Senior Industry Specialist. Throughout her career, Claudene has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise. She spent a significant portion of her career at AfriSam (formerly Holcim Cement), a leading South African construction materials company.

Her roles at AfriSam included Business Process Engineer, Energy and Environmental Manager, and General Manager for Operations, where she oversaw multiple cement milling, blending, and packaging facilities across Southern Africa. In addition to her extensive experience in construction materials, Claudene has worked in the metals and minerals sector with notable companies such as De Beers and a Rio Tinto owned heavy mineral sands company in Richards Bay.

Claudene holds an MBA and a degree in Chemical Engineering. Before joining the IFC, she served as the Chief Operating Officer at Landis+Gyr (South Africa), a prominent energy metering and integrated energy solutions company.
