  • Brazil’s perspective on CO2 reduction presented at international decarbonization conference in Lisbon

ABREN, the Brazilian Association for Energy Recovery of Waste – a Global Waste to Energy Research and Technology Council (GWC) member – is sharing Brazil’s perspective of RDF utilization for carbon footprint lowering at CarbonZero:  Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials Global Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Nov 10-11, Portugal). The Association’s members can attend CarbonZero international event, which will be held at Pestana Palace Hotel & National Monument Lisbon with significant discounts.

The Brazilian Association for Energy Recovery of Waste (ABREN) aims to promote the energy recovery of waste, simultaneously solving two major problems in Brazil and the world nowadays: the disposal of solid waste and the generation of clean energy. ABREN is a member of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) and the German Federation of Industry for Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management (BDE), which allows ABREN to receive relevant information about the international waste market, participate in events, integrate technical working groups and seek the exchange of knowledge for the development of the Brazilian market.

Engineer Francisco J P Leme, Vice-President of the Board, ABREN: “We are happy to present the decarbonization so far promoted by the utilization of Alternative Fuels in the cement industry in Brazil, as well the projection that can be achieved by the utilization of other WTE technologies in the country. The meeting will be very important for professionals worldwide to share perspectives on the industry.”

Beatrice Ene, Managing Director of Industry Link: “Targets to lower the CO2 footprint and build a clean future are drawing closer and we can make some real progress if today’s waste turns into tomorrow’s raw material. We are glad to welcome ABREN at this one-of-a-kind forum which will focus on identifying the most viable climate solutions for the cement and construction industry.”
