A Practitioner’s Perspective: Challenges and Obstacles to Implementing Sustainable and Reduced Carbon Concrete
The implementation of sustainable and reduced concrete is more than following a code, standard, or specification. There are many obstacles and obstructions that can limit, prohibit, or contradict the actual goals. This presentation will highlight those impediments and various strategies for solving them from the ground level perspective with multiple real life and field based examples.
Richard S. He frequently gives testimony to various city and county governments and serves as a consistent resource to the State of Texas legislature on a variety of ready-mix issues from tax policy, permitting, and batch plant, quarry, and cement plant production.
He served on several state and national committees for ACI, ASCE, and the NRMCA, as well as Boards of Direction for ASTM and TACA.
