Building your own table:  Resilience, Leadership and Breaking Barriers in a Male-Dominated Industry by Majida Chahine, General Manger, BCL SAL Ready Mix Concrete, Lebanon

Leadership is not about waiting for the perfect circumstances, It is about believing in yourcapabilities and creating opportunities even when the path ahead  is uncertain. In this session , Majida will share her personal journey as a woman who built her career in the traditionally male-dominated construction and ready-mix concrete industry in Lebanon. From being one of the few women in industry meetings to taking on the leadership of a company facing significant operational and financial challenges, Majida learned that resilience, credibility and results are powerful tools for creating change.

She will reflect on the realities of leading through uncertainty, earning trust, making difficult decisions and building a culture of accountability and performance.  She will also share the lessons she learned about overcoming barriers, challenging expectations, and remaining confident when the environment around you is constantly changing .

Most importantly, Majida wants to encourage women not to underestimate themselves or wait to permission to lead. Leadership does not always begin with having a seat at the table. Sometimes when there is no seat at the table, we need to have the courage to build our own table and create space for others to join us.
