Marijana Hajder is a People and Talent leader with more than 20 years of experience in the cement and construction industry, specialising in leadership development, talent, succession and organisational transformation.Ā
Today, she is Regional Head of Talent at Holcim Europe, working across 20 countries and partnering with country CEOs and senior leaders to build stronger leadership pipelines. She leads regional talent reviews covering more than 250 senior leaders, working at the intersection of business strategy, leadership potential and people decisions.Ā
Marijanaās perspective on women in leadership has been shaped by more than talent processes. Throughout her career in a traditionally male-dominated industry, she has seen the difference that deliberate opportunities can make ā and the limitations of simply assuming that talent will naturally rise to the top.Ā
Her focus today is on turning potential into impact: making talent decisions more intentional, creating access to experiences that prepare people for leadership, and challenging the assumptions that shape who gets seen, selected and sponsored.Ā
About HolcimĀ
Holcim is a global leader in building materials and sustainable construction solutions, with businesses spanning cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete and building solutions.Ā
It is a complex, international business operating across different markets, cultures and professional disciplines ā from quarries and manufacturing plants to engineering, commercial and corporate functions.Ā
I have been part of the Holcim organisation for many years, working across different People and Talent roles and, today, as Regional Head of Talent for Europe. In my current role, I work across 20 countries and a workforce of around 27,000 people, partnering with region heads and other senior leaders on talent, succession and leadership development.Ā
This experience has given me a close view of the leadership challenges and opportunities facing our industry ā particularly how we identify potential, develop leaders and create opportunities for more women to progress into leadership roles.Ā
