Carolina Prieto-Gómez is the Research and Development Manager at GCC. Carolina has a degree in Chemical Engineering and holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland.

With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, Carolina is focused on implementing innovative projects and strategies to develop specialty products, supplementary cementitious materials, and low-carbon cements and concretes. Her strong commitment to quality has led her to successfully oversee cement quality assurance and testing proficiency programs at GCC. Dedicated to advancing sustainability, Carolina prioritizes the use of alternative fuels, reducing clinker factor, and implementing carbon capture technologies to drive the development of more environmentally friendly solutions in the cement industry.
