From 1 April 2025, Bergur Løkke Rasmussen took over as Director of CCS Europe.

A former Danish MEP, he brings to the lobby group the experience of one of the few countries in Europe that has embraced CCS and is building carbon capture plants today.

With his experience as a former MEP, intelligence officer, and public affairs leader, Bergur brings a unique blend of political insight, strategic leadership, and advocacy skills to the role.

His expertise in transport, energy, and climate policy – combined with a deep understanding of stakeholder engagement – positions him perfectly to lead CCS efforts across Europe at a critical time for climate action
