Riyadh Cement Signs 25-Year Solar Power Purchase Agreement
Riyadh Cement Company announced the signing of a 25-year solar power purchase agreement as part of its strategy to diversify energy sources and enhance sustainability.
The agreement includes average annual payments of approximately USD 1.6 million, with electricity to be supplied at a cost below the Company’s current power-generation cost. Riyadh Cement will not bear the capital or operating expenditures of the project, and commercial operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The project supports the Company’s efforts to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and lower its environmental footprint.
