Think of the last time you saw a “small” fire in a production facility. In the world of alternative fuels, there’s no such thing as “small” for long. Whether you are handling biomass, waste-to-energy materials, or recycled plastics, the line between a routine shift and a catastrophic shutdown is thinner than you think.
Fire Prevention Solutions in the Production, Handling and Storage of Alternative Fuels, will be presented at Cementitious Materials International Congress by Richard Mendez, Technical Sales North America, Firefly NA. Make sure you register before it’s sold out! Only 2 seats left.
Fire and explosion events in production, handling and storage process often have a very significant impact. Firefly’s industrial solutions combine preventive and protective systems to ensure optimal safety.
Preventive systems are characterized by detecting and extinguishing ignition sources before a fire or explosion occurs.
In the presentation, we will show examples of existing installations. The solution used to protect the shredders is ShredderGuard™, a quick suppression system that can handle the tough conditions in and around a shredder, with flame detection, True IR detection, water extinguishing and water mist suppression. Conveyors are protected with the ConveyorGuard™ solution, which consists of long-range optical flame detection combined with quick-action water mist suppression, tested and approved on open and closed conveyors. For storage areas, we present the MGD solution, the electronic nose that can send out an alarm if an unusual level of gas combustion is detected, preventing ignition events.
