Aloísio Melo

Aloísio Melo is the current National Secretary for Climate Change and former Director of the Department of Mitigation and Implementation Instruments of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change-MMA. A federal civil servant since 2002, he coordinated the environment and climate change area of the Ministry of Finance for ten years, after having worked in the formulation and management of federal policies on food and nutritional security, rural credit and family farming, and civil protection and defense. He was a senior international consultant for the Inter-American Bank (IDB) in the area of climate finance and integrating climate change into the fiscal management agenda.
