Anol Mukhopadhyay

Anol Mukhopadhyay, Ph.D., P.G, FACI, is a Senior Research Scientist at Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), an adjunct professor at Zachry Department of Civil Engineering, and Director of the Concrete Innovation Lab at Texas A&M University. Dr. Mukhopadhyay has over 25 years of research and project management experience relatedn to concrete materials & durability, testing, and repair of concrete pavement/bridges, with extensive experience in developing innovative test methods related to alkali silica reaction (ASR) in concrete. He developed two innovative ASR test methods (i.e., AASHTO T364-17 and AASHTO TP142-21) and a performance-based approach for formulating ASR-resistant concrete using locally available conventional and alternative SCMs. He led the development of a comprehensive, durability-based performance evaluation tool (Excel based) for TxDOT to be used during the mix design stage for evaluating ASR, shrinkage
based cracking potential, corrosion resistance, and freeze-thaw resistance evaluation of bridge deck concrete containing conventional SCMs, with the main focus on reducing carbon footprint in concrete infrastructures.

Dr. Mukhopadhyay has served as the Chair of ACI 221 (aggregate) and has been serving as a voting member of numerous technical committees in ACI, TRB, and ASTM. Dr. Mukhopadhyay is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute (ACI). He has been invited toconduct workshops, technical sessions, and/or be a keynote speaker, plenary session speaker, invited speaker, and panelist at several conferences. Dr. Mukhopadhyay has served as an Executive Board (EB) member of the International Cement Microscopy Association (ICMA) and Associate Editor for the ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering and is currently serving as an Associate Editor for the ACI Materials Journal.
