Malini Chatterjee is the Vice President – Human Resources at Vicat in India Group, bringing with her more than 27 years of transformative leadership across industries and regions. Throughout her career, she has consistently challenged barriers, making her mark in traditionally male-dominated sectors such as cement plants, steel plants, and mega captive power plants.
A strategic HR leader, Malini is widely recognized for aligning people strategies with business objectives, guiding CEOs and executive teams as a trusted advisor, and driving organizational transformation. Her expertise spans across the full HR spectrum—ranging from talent acquisition, workforce planning, and leadership development to compensation design, employee engagement, compliance, and HR technology integration.
Passionate about shaping inclusive organizational cultures, she has championed diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while fostering employee well-being and resilience. Malini is also at the forefront of HR innovation, leveraging analytics and digital transformation tools to anticipate workforce trends and prepare organizations for the future.
Her contributions extend beyond operations into boardroom and stakeholder engagement, where she plays a key role in aligning workforce strategies with business growth. Among her many achievements, she has implemented talent mapping and competency development frameworks that strengthen leadership pipelines and technical expertise within organizations.
Malini holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur and an M.Tech in Production Management, alongside a PGDM in HR and Industrial Relations from Xavier’s Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB). She is certified in HR Analytics from IIM Rohtak, a Harvard-certified HR Leader, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour from IIM Shillong (expected completion 2025/26).
