Sustainability is often linked to reducing GHG emissions and achieving a net-zero industry, but it involves a broader approach that integrates both environmental and social dimensions. As sustainability reporting requirements increase, companies must now disclose a wider range of social topics, including women’s inclusion in the workforce. Recognizing that only what gets measured can be improved, these requirements offer an opportunity to enhance key metrics related to women in the industry. Sustainability reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and the new CSRD’s ESRS in the European Union are a crucial tool for advancing gender inclusion.
CSRD Reporting: Elevating Women’s Representation in the Cement Industry by Gabriela Munguia, Sustainability officer at Christian Pfeiffer examines the current metrics of women’s representation in the cement industry and highlights the positive impact of improving gender-related metrics under CSRD’s ESRS, showing how enhancing these metrics helps attract customers and investments through compliance but also strengthens internal operations, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable workforce.
CSRD Reporting: Elevating Women’s Representation in the Cement Industry will be presented at Women in Cement and Construction International Congress 2024 (December 10 and 11, Vidamar Resort, Madeira, Portugal), register now using the below buttons or by emailing us at contact@industrylink.eu.
